Anointing with Oil

GREAT AND POWERFUL!
Anointing with oil is a powerful tool in the church of the living God for the blessing and healing of His people. The Lord’s people and His church is precious unto Him.
I Corinthians 12: 27-28
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
God has set healing in the church! Many say that healing went out in the past and that it is not for the people of God today. The fact is this, we still have the church and healing was set in it. We still have the church and we still have healing. One of the blessings of the church is anointing with oil.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN JESUS SENT THE EARLY DISCIPLES OUT.
Mark 6: 12-13
And they went out, and preached that men should repent. And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
1. They went out.
2. They preached that men should repent.
3. And anointed with oil many that were sick.
THOSE THAT WERE SICK! THESE EARLY DISCIPLES ANOINTED THEM WITH OIL AT THE COMMAND OF JESUS. WHO DID THEY ANOINT? THOSE THAT WERE SICK.
4. The Bible says: And Healed Them.
AND HEALED THEM!
The anointing with oil was used to set priest, prophets and kings into an office for the Lord. In the Old Testament after the anointing the Holy Ghost would come upon them. David was anointed king and the Holy Ghost came upon him.
I Samuel 16: 13
Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: And the spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
IT IS THE ANOINTING THAT NOT ONLY BREAKS THE YOKE BUT DESTROYS IT.
Isaiah 10: 27
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall betaken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
“… AND THE YOKE SHALL BE DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THE ANOINTING.”
James 5: 14-15
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; And let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
1. IS SICK AMONG YOU?
Notice that word among you. Among the people of God, in the church. This is healing for the church.
2. LET HIM CALL FOR THE ELDERS OF THE CHURCH. SPIRITUAL LEADERS.
3. LET THEM PRAY OVER HIM.
Many churches pray for those that are sick and yet fail to use the oil. This is one place that prayer and oil go together.
4. ANOINTING HIM WITH OIL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
THREE POWERFUL THINGS THAT GO TOGETHER IN HEALING THE SICK.
PRAYER! – OIL! – NAME OF THE LORD!
IT IS SET IN THE CHURCH!
THE RESULTS:
1. The prayer of faith shall save the sick. Shall save the sick!
2. The Lord shall raise him up.
This is that great powerful promise for being anointed with oil.
THE LORD SHALL RAISE HIM UP.
This ought to cause people that are sick to get anointed with oil. The Bible makes this promise: The Lord shall raise him up.
3. AND IF HAVE COMMITTED SINS, THEY SHALL BE FORGIVEN HIM.
ANOTHER GREAT PROMISE!
SINS FORGIVEN!
 1. SHALL SAVE THE SICK.
 2. LORD RAISE UP.
3. SINS FORGIVEN.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: For he that cometh to God must believe that He is , and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Faith – Prayer – Oil – Name Of The Lord
Faith is absolutely necessary to please God! A person that presents himself to be anointed with oil in the name of the Lord Jesus for healing or forgiveness will please God. The Bible teaches that the Lord is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. The word diligent is characterized by  attention and effort. Attention and effort needs to be given to be anointed with oil. For God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. The sick need to seek the Lord for healing. Jesus has promised a cure in His word that the Lord would raise the sick up. A great objection that you hear about anointing with oil is this, “There is nothing in the oil!” “There is no power in the oil!” “You don’t have to have it!”
Answer:
There is something to the oil because the Lord said use it. There is something to the oil because Jesus said use his name with it. It is God’s way and not the way of man.
THE POWERFUL PROMISE TO THE SICK. THE LORD SHALL RAISE HIM UP.
There is a door open to divine healing through Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the great doctor for the sick, the suffering, the dying, the afflicted. This divine healing power is a force beyond human means. There is healing from Jesus in the midst of his church. It is not of man, it is of God. This brings up the question. “Is Jesus a God to you?” Some have brought him down and spoke about him in such a way that they say all healing power went out. This is not what the word of God teaches. The Bible teaches us that:
Hebrews 13: 8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
He is the same. He has not changed. What He did yesterday, he will do today and what he will do today he will do tomorrow. Anointing with oil is in the church and it is for those who are sick!
